Shillong, Jan 20: In a significant announcement, the Chief Minister declared that the Meghalaya Games 2025 will be hosted in Jowai, showcasing the state government’s unwavering commitment to fostering sports development. The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to investing in sports, with a primary focus on enhancing infrastructure, athlete training, and empowering all stakeholders involved.
During the announcement, the Chief Minister articulated, “Our commitment is to provide the youth with the means to pursue their passion, voice their opinions, and emerge as leaders for the future generations of Meghalaya.
As we conclude this chapter and eagerly anticipate the Meghalaya Games in 2025 to unfold in Jowai, we aim to cultivate and expand our sports culture across districts.
Our goal is to inspire dreams and contribute to a healthier, more vibrant Meghalaya.”
Highlighting the significance of organizing such events, the Chief Minister noted that the Meghalaya Games provided valuable insights into the logistical requirements for hosting world-class sports competitions.
He expressed confidence that the experience gained would play a pivotal role in preparing for the upcoming National Games, a portion of which is slated to be hosted in Tura.
Sports Minister Shri Shakliar Warjri extended his best wishes to Jowai, the chosen host for the Meghalaya Games 2025. He affirmed the state’s steadfast efforts to position itself as a hub for Indian and global sports in the near future, building on the success and legacy established by the Meghalaya Games.
The announcement has sparked anticipation and excitement among sports enthusiasts, athletes, and residents of Jowai, who eagerly await the opportunity to witness and participate in a showcase of athletic talent and sportsmanship during the Meghalaya Games 2025.
