SHILLONG: The Lok Janshakti Party has alleged that the Butcher Road, a defence land, is being misused without any objection from the Shillong Cantonment authorities and the Station Headquarters.

LJP state general secretary RG Pradhan said that the entire stretch of Butcher Road has been converted into a tourist sumo stand which is causing hindrance to the plying of vehicles.

He also alleged that collectors are charging parking fee at a rate of Rs 20 per vehicle without issuing any receipt. He also claimed that the matter had been brought to the notice of the concerned authority but no action was taken in this regard.
