SHILLONG: In what could be a huge opportunity for Meghalaya footballers, Goan giants and I-League defending champions Churchill Brothers have shown their keenness to sign two star players from Malki Sports Club.

The two footballers are Malki captain Marlangki Suting and Kyrshan Lyngshing, who were earlier playing for Shillong Lajong FC in the I-League.

Malki SC coach Hering Shangpliang revealed, on Tuesday, that Churchill Brothers coach Mariano Dias has expressed interest in signing the pair of Suting and Lyngshing.

When contacted, Suting admitted that he was informed by his coach and mentor about this development.

Shangpliang has had a long association with Suting in the player’s development.

“So far nothing is confirmed. It is still at the negotiating stage,” the Malki SC skipper said.

He added that if the Goa club is really serious to sign him then he would not let this opportunity go.
