Tura, Feb 8: In view of the complaints and grievances received against the illegal establishment and operation of check and toll gates in the district, the District Magistrate, West Garo Hills Tura has issued an Order under Section 144 Cr PC prohibiting the illegal establishment and operation of toll/check gates without proper authorization within the jurisdiction of West Garo Hills District.
Further, the order states that the Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Police personnel, Forest Officials and other law enforcements Officials to identify such toll/check gates within the jurisdiction of west Garo Hills District and immediately dismantle them. Moreover, anyone found violating this order will be liable for legal action under relevant provisions.
This order shall remain in force until withdrawn.
