WGH prohibits establishment of illegal toll gates

Tura, Feb 8: Given the complaints and grievances received against the illegal establishment and operation of check and toll gates in the district, the District Magistrate, West Garo Hills has issued an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting illegal establishments and operation of toll/check gates without proper authorisation within the jurisdiction of the district.
Further, the order states that the sub-divisional magistrates, police personnel, forest officials, and other law enforcement officials to identify such gates within the jurisdiction of West Garo Hills and immediately dismantle them.
Violators will be liable for legal action under relevant provisions. ‘The order shall remain in force until withdrawn’.
