SHILLONG: A Kolkata-based private insurance company has duped several people in East Jaintia Hills.
A woman identified as Sukmon Lyngdoh recently lodged a complaint with the police that M/s Ramel Industries Ltd. Company, Headquartered at Kolkata, had sold insurance policies to the people of Khliehriat area in East Jaintia Hills and the policy holders were due to receive their maturity amount in the year 2012. However, Officials from Badarpur Branch of the Company namely Jayanta Das, Regional Manager, Pankaj Sengupta, Development Officer and Dhrubo Jyoti Das, Branch Manager had cheated the policy holders of their money amounting Rs 21 lakh.Police now are hunting for the officials of the company.
