SHILLONG, Feb 12: In the wake of several fire incidents in Shillong and parts of East Khasi Hills, outgoing District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills, RM Kurbah has prohibited burning of organic and inorganic substances within the district.
Kurbah, in an order under Section 144 CrPC, has prohibited burning of grasses, woods and other organic and inorganic matter etc., in public and private property, forest grassland areas, parks, gardens, places of plantation, barren lands within the district’s jurisdiction.
