BSF prevents smuggling bid, rescues cattle

SHILLONG, Feb 12: BSF troops on Sunday foiled the attempts of miscreants to smuggle cattle and rescued the buffaloes. The cattle were being smuggled to Bangladesh through the bordering area of West Jaintia Hills.
BSF troops of 4th Battalion, in a special operation, rescued 37 buffaloes hidden in a jungle areameant to be smuggled.
In another joint operation, troops of 181st Battalion BSF along with the Meghalaya Police seized 12,000 kg of sugar meant to be smuggled into Bangladesh in South Garo Hills.
