Dacoity

On November 6 at about 11:30 am, Police party came across some suspected dacoits in combat fatigue at Rongjeng Reserve (EGH) and opened fire at them. However, no casualty was reported.

Body recovered

On November 1 at around 4:10 pm, the body of one Rajesh Magar (30) was recovered from Mawlonghat, Shillong. Necessary formalities have been observed.

Arrests

lShillong Police on Wednesday arrested one woman, Bimla Kaur (35) for her involvement in stealing four mobile phones from one shop, Gadgetz at Khyndai Lad on October 24. Police also recovered three out of the four mobiles stolen and attempts are being made to recover the last one.

lIn another case, police arrested one Donalson Kahit (35) of Lumshngain, Rynjah for stealing Rs 78000 from his brother-in-law, Danny Shylla on November 4. Police recovered Rs 77,000 from the Catholic Cemetery at Laitumkhrah and Rs 1000 from Kahit’s possession.
