HILLONG: The road blockade called for three nights called pro-ILP groups passed off peacefully on Thursday without any untoward incidents.

The Government is yet to invite the agitating groups for dialogue though the latter had expressed their willingness to talk.

Meanwhile, concerned over disruption of normal life due to the agitations of the pressure groups demanding implementation of ILP, the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Assembly stressed on the need for early solution to the impasse.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Rev. N. S. Phawa, Senior Administrative Secretary, Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Assembly said that for the good of all, the State Government and other concerned parties should find all means in order to restore peace and harmony and at the earliest.

“The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Assembly is deeply concerned over the recent developments that have disrupted normal life and activities in the state. We remind all the Churches and members of the Church to continue praying for God’s intervention”, the statement added.
