SHILLONG: Rangdajied United secured their 11th consecutive victory in this season’s Shillong Premier League by swatting aside Nangkiew Irat 4-0 at the JN Stadium on Monday.

After a 0-5 loss to Royal Wahingdoh in their previous match, Nangkiew suffered another comprehensive defeat at the hands of table-toppers RUFC.

Bansharai Sunn opened the scoring in the sixth minute, netting an early goal that was followed by Craig Lyngdoh in the 12th minute.

Rangdajied went into half time with the two-goal lead but were not satisfied with the scoreline.

Sandesh Gadkari recorded a brace in the second half, with goals in the 66th and 87th minutes, thereby sealing the rout.

Nangkiew are in fifth position and have 16 points from 13 matches, with just one more fixture left to play, against Pohkseh on November 15.

Even if they win that match against seventh-placed Pohkseh, their chances of making it to the top four look exceedingly slim, although they are almost guaranteed of avoiding relegation.

On Tuesday, defending champions Royal Wahingdoh FC will face Langsning at 2:45pm at the JN Stadium, Polo.

Both teams have played 10 games so far, with RWFC just one point ahead of Langsning.

Third Division Super League

Meanwhile, in a Third Division Super League match, Rynjah squeezed out a narrow 1-0 victory over Qualapaty.

Wungnngayam Muirang was the lone scorer, finding the back of the net in the 19th minute.

On Tuesday, Lawsohtun will take on Mawkriah West at 1pm at Ground No. 3.
