Office-bearers
The Seng Kur Rynjah, central body (Khasi and Jaintia Hills), recently convened the annual general meeting at Madanshad Laitkyrhong, EKH, which was attended by Seng Kur Rynjah from Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills. During the meeting, new office-bearers of the Seng Kur Rynjah, central body, were elected for a period of three years. According to a statement, FD Rynjah was elected as president, Joy Rynjah as working president, M. John Rynjah and Solomon E. Rynjah as vice presidents, Bakhiamon Rynjah as general secretary, Gladstarwell Rynjah as joint secretary, et al.
Seizure
The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills, conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in Shillong and its outskirts in February, and detected seven cases. While four persons were arrested under Excise Act, 41.200 litre of illicitly distilled liquor and 28.400 litre of Indian-made foreign liquor were confiscated.
