NONGSTOIN: West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtner, on Monday inaugurated a newly-constructed parking lot at Upper New Nongstoin, opposite Anderson School.

The parking lot, constructed by Sordar Shnong of Upper New Nongstoin, HH Marwein, has been named as ‘Mandi Wat’.

The memory of Late Dr. Sanderson Dkhar is etched in the minds and hearts of the people of Nongstoin and the entire district, as one who was a pioneer in contributing towards the development of the region. Besides Marwein’s family members, others who were present on the occasion included D Mawlein, Circle Inspector, Nongstoin Police, LG Nongsiej, MDC, Nongstoin, village elders and others.

The SP informed that this parking lot will cater to the needs of buses, sumos, tourist and other vehicles travelling from Nongstoin to Shillong.
