Man beaten to death in UP over land dispute
FATEHPUR (UP), April 7: A 35-year-old man was beaten to death allegedly over a land dispute in the Fatehpur district on Sunday, police said.Police said that while harvesting wheat crop, Ramu Hada (35) was allegedly beaten to death with sticks in the field.A case has been registered against five named and two unknown attackers on the basis of the complaint of the family members of the deceased and a search has been initiated to nab them, the police said.Mishra added that the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination.According to police, the accused allegedly committed the crime due to a land dispute. Police blame rats for destroying confiscated ganja
DHANBAD, April 7: Rats were blamed for destroying 10 kg of bhang and nine kg of ganja, confiscated and stored in a police station in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad.The police informed the matter to a court in the district.The police submitted a report to Sessions Judge on Saturday after the court directed the OC of Rajganj police station to produce the bhang and ganja seized six years ago.The officer in his report said that rats had completely destroyed the narcotics substances stored in the police station.A report has also been registered in this regard at the police station.On December 14, 2018, police arrested a father-son duo with the following drugs.An FIR had also been lodged against them. The court had ordered the police to produce the items,which the police could not, saying that rats had destroyed it. Defence lawyer Bhatt said it appeared that his client was framed in false cases, as the police could not be able to exhibit the confiscated materials. (PTI)
