New traffic arrangements for polling day

SHILLONG, April 16: In an effort to facilitate smooth traffic movement in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, a large number of vehicles have been deputed for election duty towards SRGT Parking Lot and JN Stadium, Polo to submit the EVMs after the close of polls from every polling station. In view of this, several traffic arrangements will be implemented from 5:30 pm on April 19.
No entry points from Mawroh tri-junction towards Golf tri-junction, Tiara Restaurant Jn. towards Golf Tri-Jn, Golf Club towards Polo, Lumjingshai Jn. towards CRPF, Lumjingshai Jn. towards Forest Colony, and Fourth Furlong towards Polo Point, will be in place.
Additionally, no right turns will be permitted at Polo Point for vehicles coming from Lawmali Junction and at Matri Mandir Jn. for vehicles coming from Green Hills Jn.
Vehicles will be diverted towards various routes, including FCI – Lawmali – Polo, Pynthorumkhrah, Golf Tri-Jn. – Mawroh/Shyiap, Lawmali – Polo, CS Jn., Green Hills Jn, and Fourth Furlong.
Furthermore, heavy motor vehicles are advised to avoid the Polo area from April 17 to 19, and the general public is urged to refrain from traveling towards Polo area after 5 pm on April 19. Parking aroundPolo area will be prohibited on April 18 and 19, except for emergency service vehicles, which will be facilitated.
