SHILLONG, April 23: Members of Shillong Happy Tails, an NGO dedicated to the welfare of stray animals, are making efforts to zero in on the people who attempted to harm a dog at Mawlai Umshing-Umjapung, a video clip of which has been recorded.
The video shows the dog was peacefully sleeping and exhibiting no aggression or threat.
“Following the distressing video, our team met the police and questioned the local Rangbah Shnong who clarified that they had only urged dog owners to keep their pets under control,” a member of Shillong Happy Tails said.
An announcement will be made in the locality at 8 pm on Tuesday night, warning against harming dogs, which could draw legal repercussions, it was informed.
“No FIR was filed as the individuals remain unidentified. Our team continues efforts to find them,” the NGO member said.
