SHILLONG, April 23: Police on Tuesday arrested two persons in connection with the alleged murder cases at Ichamati and Mawlai Mawroh, on March 27 and April 10, respectively.
This is the first arrest in the Arjun Ray murder case at Mawlai Mawroh and the third in the Ichamati twin-murder case.
A police sources said one of accused was arrested from Mawlai while the second one was arrested from Nongthymmai.
The source, however, refused to divulge any details on the two arrests.
Earlier, police had arrested two persons Shambor Shati (26) from Wah Utim and Meshadapbor Skhembill from Saitsohpen, Sohra in connection with the twin-murder case at Ichamati.
When contacted, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Rituraj Ravi said he would issue a detailed statement on the arrests on Wednesday.
