SHILLONG: A five-member delegation of the 14th Finance Commission headed by former RBI Governor Dr YV Reddy arrived here on Monday.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, his cabinet colleagues will meet the delegation on Tuesday.

After this meeting, official sources said that the members of the commission would visit the Horticulture Hub at Dewlieh and Umsning Tea Centre in Ri-Bhoi district.

“They would also visit the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures at Mawlai later in the evening,” official sources said.

On Wednesday, official sources informed that the panel would visit to Bio Resource Development Centre, Upper Shillong.

Official sources informed that the commission members would then meet the Chief Executive Members (CEMs) of the three Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) and the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Shillong, Tura and Jowai Municipal Boards which would be followed by a meeting with the leaders of the various political parties.

“Finally, they would meet the members of the Chamber of Commerce, Tribal Chamber of Commerce and Frontier Chamber of Commerce before returning back to Delhi,” official sources added.
