Body recovered from Myntang River

JOWAI: Ummulong Police recovered an unidentified decomposed body from Myntang river near Wahiajer village on Tuesday morning.

“The body seems to be of a Garo person,” police said adding that some residents of Wahiajer first spotted it floating and immediately informed the local Rangbah Shnong who later informed the police. The body, which had no injury marks on it, was shifted to the old Jowai Civil Hospital morgue. Police are investigating the matter.
