TURA, May 5: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) was on Sunday, held for the fourth year in three examinations centres across Garo Hills — the Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Montfort Centre and the Captain William’s School in Tura.
Around 1,000 students appeared in the examination at the three examination centres which concluded successfully without any major incidents.
The Montfort examination centre had a technical and clerical error in the printing of admit cards of students but it was resolved later.
Earlier, the intervention of the West Garo Hills Deputy commissioner Jagdish Chelani along with the City Coordinator and the Montfort Centre Coordinator avoided any untoward challenges in Centre allotment to students from Garo Hills.
NEET (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is an all India pre-medical entrance test for students wishing to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS) and AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in government and private institutions in the country as well as for those intending to pursue primary medical qualification abroad.
