SHILLONG, May 7: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Meghalaya, has raised concerns over alleged discrepancies observed during the NEET-UG 2024 examination held at the Jowai Centre, specifically at St. Mary Mazzarello Girls Hr. Sec School recently.
Candidates were faced with the distribution of two sets of question papers, labeled as “QRST” and “MNOP”, causing widespread panic and confusion among examinees, the ABVP claimed in a statement issued here.
Additionally, candidates’ admit cards were not collected by invigilators, contrary to standard procedure. This departure from protocol, described as a new system, further added to the chaos.
Many candidates were called back to the centre after the exam to submit their admit cards, only adding to the confusion.
In view of this, the ABVP has urged the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET exam, to promptly clarify the rationale behind distributing two sets of question papers and to authenticate the correctness of each set.
“If the sets are indeed different, affected candidates should be given the opportunity for a re-examination to maintain the integrity and fairness of the NEET-UG 2024 examination process,” the ABVP said.
