SHILLONG: Malki CC beat Riatsamthiah SCC by seven wickets, while Miracle CC Garo Hills saw off Lawmali CC by 17 runs in the respective matches in the Shillong Cricket Association’s Platinum Jubilee Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Polo on Wednesday.
Riatsamthiah made 132/9 in 20 overs, with Wallam John Lyngdoh top-scoring with 33 runs. Akash Lyngdoh had the best figures for Malki with 3-19.
In reply, Malki CC scored 133/3 in 18.5 overs. Aiborlang took two of the three wickets to fall, including that of match-winner Banpynshngain, who made 70 off 49 balls.
The second match saw Miracle CC put up a total of 140/6 in their 20 overs, with Sengbal Sangma contributing a nice half-century (65 off 59) to the cause.
Basu Chettri claimed a brace of wickets for 20 runs.
Lawmali fell short of the target, making 123/7 in their full quota of overs. Lachu Chettri top-scored with 29 runs.
Balbo Marak took 2-22 for the winners.
