3 killed in Mumbai billboard collapse
Mumbai, May 13: At least three persons were killed and 59 others injured on Monday when a 100-foot tall illegal billboard fell on a petrol pump in Ghatkopar area of Mumbai as unseasonal rains accompanied by dust storms lashed the city. In another rain-related incident, an under-construction metal parking tower collapsed on a road amid gusty winds in Wadala area, injuring three persons and damaging vehicles. Flight operations at Mumbai airport were suspended for an hour in the evening due to low visibility while local trains were delayed. As many as 15 flights were diverted to different airports and the runways operation resumed at 5.03 pm, the airport operator said. “Due to the inclement weather and dust storms in the city, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) temporarily suspended flight operations for around 66 min due to low visibility and gusty winds,” it said in a statement. 35 schools in Jaipur receive bomb threats
Jaipur, May 13: Thirty-five schools in all received bomb threats on Monday, at a time when Jaipur is observing the 16th anniversary of serial bomb blasts that rocked Rajasthan’s capital, killing scores of people and injuring many more. The principals of renowned schools like DPS and MPS received bomb threats through email in the morning. It mentioned about the installation of bombs in the school buildings. All the schools were evacuated in a hurry. After getting the information, police teams and bomb disposal squads reached the spots. All schools have been evacuated and police are searching the information of the person who sent the mail. On Sunday, 12 airports across the country, including Jaipur, received bomb threats. (IANS)

143 toilets constructed for transgenders: Delhi to HC
New Delhi, May 13: The Delhi High Court on Monday closed the Public Interest Litigation which sought direction to construct separate washrooms for the third gender on the ground that the absence of such public toilets makes them prone to sexual assault and harassment. On the PIL filed by Jasmine Kaur Chhabra, the Delhi Government and the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) submitted affidavits and action taken reports. The Delhi Government has provided an update to the High Court in a status report. It was revealed that 143 separate public toilets have already been constructed, with an additional 223 toilets currently under construction for the same purpose. Furthermore, plans for an additional 30 toilets are in the pipeline. (PTI)
