TURA, May 16: The ACHIK on Thursday demanded that the government provide mock tests for students in Meghalaya before they appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), contending that it would help students prepare better for the exam and increase their chances of success.
“The CUET is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various central universities in India. The exam is highly competitive, and students need to prepare well to secure a good rank. Mock tests are an essential part of this preparation, as they help students familiarise themselves with the exam pattern, time constraints, and type of questions asked,” the organisation said in a statement.
It observed that a significant number of students lack familiarity with the exam pattern, thereby leading to confusion and uncertainty when it comes to filling in their roll numbers.
The ACHIK added that this highlights a critical need for greater exposure to and understanding of the exam format, so as to ensure that students are adequately prepared and able to navigate even the most fundamental aspects of the exam with confidence.
It also requested the government to provide additional resources and support to students to help them succeed in the exam.
