SHILLONG: A fire broke out at the house of one Bipul Das at Umkdait, Nongmynsong here on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the owner of the house, the fire broke out due to short circuit. The owner and his wife sustained minor injuries when they tried to douse the fire.
Household goods and the ceiling of an adjacent house were damaged in the fire.
East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang has ruled out any possibility of foul play in the incident.
