SHILLONG, May 30: Facing opposition against its decision to impose Section 144 CrPC in the district and bar all victory processions on the counting day on June 4, the East Khasi Hills district administration has now called for a meeting with all the political parties on Friday.
“Tomorrow we have a meeting with all the political parties to discuss the various issues of the counting and I will be able to comment after that. This (bar on victory processions) will also be discussed,” East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, SC Sadhu told The Shillong Times on Thursday.
The meeting comes at a time when the Voice of the People Party (VPP) has announced its decision to defy the order on June 4.
