TURA, Jun 1: Social activist, Nilbath Ch Marak, has written to Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) Idashisha Nongrang over the delay in the appointment of a Meghalaya Police Accountability Commission (MPAC).
In a letter submitted on May 30, Marak said he had written to various authorities in the state, including the Governor, seeking the appointment of an MPAC to address the grievances of residents of the state.
“There is no response on the matter by state authorities and this reminder is to seek the formation of MPAC so that aggrieved residents can approach the Commission if all other avenues have failed,” said Nilbath.
