SHILLONG: Last week’s twin LPG blast incidents at two restaurants in the city claimed one life on Tuesday.

The deceased, Deepak Satnami (25), a staff of the Banana Leaf restaurant at Lummawrie, Laitumkhrah, succumbed to his injuries at Nazareth Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

Superintendent of Police M Kharkrang said with the turn of events the earlier sections leveled against the owner of the restaurants would be changed and a new charge sheet would be filed in this connection.

Raja Ratnam, the owner, was arrested earlier on charges of mischief, violation of the Essential Commodities Act, negligence by using combustible substance and concealment of evidence, and later released on bail.

“We are still investigating into the matter,” Kharkrang added.
