Shillong, June 9: Chinamrak W Momin, a photographer from Garo Hills, has recently been honored with several prestigious awards for his exceptional work capturing the beauty of Northeast India.
Chinamrak’s work has been recognised with awards such as the Meghalaya Tourism Photography Award and the Northeast Photography Award, in collaboration with Incredible India.
His stunning images of iconic locations like Cherrapunji and Mawsynram, as well as the living Root bridges of Nongriat, have garnered widespread acclaim.
Growing up surrounded by the landscapes and vibrant traditions of Meghalaya, Chinamrak developed a passion for photography at a young age. His love for his homeland is evident in his evocative photographs, which not only showcase the physical beauty of the region but also celebrate its rich culture and heritage.
In addition to capturing the natural beauty of Meghalaya, Chinamrak also focuses on preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Garo community. His photographs of traditional festivals like the Wangala Festival offer a glimpse into the vibrant traditions of the region.
