JOWAI, June 10: The Raij Buam clan, which includes Buam Khyriam, Surong and Sumer from the villages of Skentalang, Umladkhur, Jarain, and Thangbuli, reportedly attempted to close the popular tourist spot, Kangsuri Waterfall, located under the Amlarem Civil Subdivision.
The attempted shutdown reportedly stemmed from an ongoing disagreement between the Raij Buam clan and the Saw Kur of Raij Buam.
According to the secretary of the four clans, A Khyriem, they had submitted letters to the District Council (JHADC) regarding the issue, but were yet to receive a response.
Meanwhile, the authorities, including the Magistrate of Amlarem Subdivision and the SDPO Amlarem, arrived at the scene and persuaded the group to allow the administration a few days to resolve the matter.
