SHILLONG: The call for a 36-hour bandh in parts of the state from December 10-11 caused some amount of consternation in the city as Rangdajied United FC were scheduled to host Pune FC on the second day of the shutdown at 3:30pm at the JN Stadium, Polo.
The general strike will, however, only run for 12 hours on Tuesday.
An official of the Shillong-based club said that Rangdajied had informed the All India Football Federation (AIFF) that it would be impossible to hold the match in view of the bandh.
The opinion of the Pune FC team, who are already present in the city, was also sought after by RUFC.
However, as of Monday evening, no intimation had been received by the AIFF.
The match is likely to go ahead, although both teams will probably face restrictions in their practice sessions on Tuesday, a day ahead of the 14th round fixture.
Meanwhile, the Blues announced, on Sunday, that tickets for the match would become available from Monday at various locations throughout Shillong as well as Jowai.
RUFC are in 12th place, while Pune are third.
