Headman accused of threatening RTI applicant

SHILLONG: The headman of Khliehtyrshi, Kitbok Rymbai has been accused of threatening a woman who has filed an RTI application on the implementation of the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) at Thadlaskein Block office in Jaintia Hills.

When contacted, West Jaintia Hills SP Herbert Lyngdoh said that police have registered a case and are investigating into the matter. The woman AR Dkhar has alleged that the headman threatened her over the phone. She filed a complaint at Jowai Police Station.
