HILLONG: The KHADC Executive Committee (EC) is scheduled to meet on Thursday to deliberate on the report of the Delimitation Committee.

According to KHADC Chief Executive Member Pynshngain N Syiem, the Committee submitted its report to the EC on Monday.

“We are likely to take a final call on the report at the earliest considering the urgency of the matter,” Syiem said here on Wednesday.

The KHADC CEM said the EC would look to resubmit the proposed delimitation bill to the State Government before Christmas after incorporating the views and suggestions of the Delimitation Committee.

Prior to this, the EC, if necessary, will convene a special session to get the approval of the House before resubmitting the bill to the State Government, Syiem said. “We are fully aware that we are running out of time. But we would try our level best to see that the task is completed before Christmas,” Syiem said.

He also said that the Council would like to hold the upcoming election as per the proposed delimited constituencies.
