IPR min bats for accurate journalism in digital age

NONGPOH, June 28: Information & Public Relations (IPR) Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Friday accentuated the importance of accurate journalism in the digital age while flagging concern over the spread of fake news.
Ampareen said this during her address at the launch event for MeghalayaPost.News, a new digital news portal.
During the event, which was held in Nongpoh, Ampareen urged the journalists to ensure thorough research and neutrality in their reporting.
She also pledged support to MeghalayaPost.News, promising to work closely with the team and provide assistance in the future.
During the programme, Ampareen congratulated senior journalist Cornelius Laloo and his team for their efforts toward the initiative.
On the occasion, Laloo informed that that the portal aims to provide a better platform for journalists from Ri-Bhoi and deliver accurate and real-time information to the public.
Others who were part of the launch event include Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem, Mawhati MLA Charles Marngar, Nongpoh MDC Balajied Rani, FKJGP president Dundee Cliff Khongsit, and Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement president Lamphrang Kharbani.
