TURA, June 29: The Constitutional Rights Forum (CRF) unit of Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills (WGH) has submitted a complaint to the police, seeking a resolution to the chaotic traffic situation in the border town as well as reckless driving.
In their complaint, the CRF stated that many cases of reckless driving were taking place in Tikrikilla, posing a significant risk to pedestrians and cyclists, which, it added, were a gross violation of traffic rules.
“During school hours (8 am to 3 pm), dumpers (carrying huge loads) have been seen passing through areas surrounding schools, posing a threat to children. The situation is exacerbated by vehicles being illegally parked on both sides of the narrow road that pose difficulty for others, especially during market days,” said the CRF in its complaint.
The CRF also appealed to the police to conduct regular checks of vehicles and ensure the proper functioning of indicators and the presence of proper documents.
