SHILLONG, July 4: The state government has notified the appointment of lamonlang M Syiem as the Chairperson of Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW).
According to a notification in this regard, Syiem will remain the Chairperson of MSCW for a period of three years from the date of joining. “The honorarium, allowances and conditions of service shall be governed by the Meghalaya State Commission for Women (Salaries, Allowance and Conditions of Service of Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Members) Rules, 2005,” the order said.
It is pertinent to note that the MSCW had been without a Chairperson since its previous head, Phidalia Toi, was removed after she reportedly took part in a political rally for a particular candidate ahead of the Assembly elections early last year.
