SHILLONG, July 6: Tura MP Saleng A Sangma has predicted that the Congress will form the government in the state in 2028. He said the Congress will return to power at the Centre by winning a larger number of seats in the 2029 Lok Sabha polls.
Pointing out that the party has seen ups and downs, he said, “The Congress was pushed against the wall and now we have to start pushing back.”
Asking the party to remain united, he said whatever the party does, it will be for the entire state, not for any individual and teams.
Admitting that there were some lapses which led to the Congress’ defeat in Shillong, Saleng said the party will have to re-think and re-visit the areas where it is lacking.
“A lot of people are wondering why I won the election and not Mukul Sangma who fielded his brother…The fact is realism and truth matter. I won it big because we spread the truth in the state and the country,” Saleng said.
