Kohima: As the Christian majority state Nagaland under the grip of yuletide and cold wave ,a three-day ‘Festival of Praise’ began last night with London based Hillsong and guest speaker Gary Clarke, senior pastor Hillsong London at Dimapur District Sports Complex stadium Dimapur.
People in hundreds from outside and within the state, young and old sang along with the band in unison as they played worship numbers like Mighty To Save, Hosanna, Take It All, Tell The World and others. Pastor Gary in his brief message spoke on the goodness and grace of God.
He said: ‘You don’t have to do good to get good, as you are already good in the eyes of God.’ In the eyes of God, we are the Church, the ‘salt and light’ of the world. People would see God’s nature, character and experience His goodness and love. Many have been blessed and those who have not come tonight should not miss the opportunity, said a youth evangelist based in Dimapur.
The worship service has been organized at the right time when Nagas at this juncture needed to refocus and strengthen our faith in God, an elderly man said. We felt the spirit of God moving, as many of us particularly the youth were seen crying out seeking the divine intervention during the altar call, a pastor said.
Festival of Praise, an initiative of New India Church of God and hosted by Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship, Dimapur would be held till December 15. (UNI)
