Cherrapunjee Festival
The office of the SDO, Sohra, in collaboration with Meghalaya Tourism will organise the Cherrapunjee Festival 2013 on December 18 from 9 am at Sa-i-Mika Park. Various competitions and cultural programmes will be organised during the festival.
Awareness programme
The NSS Volunteers of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) along with the faculty of Department of Tourism organised an awareness programme on eco tourism at Lawbah village, East Khasi Hills recently. Village headmen Kerring Wahlang lauded the initiative in organising this kind of programme for the first time in the village. Later, a presentation was made on eco tourism and its importance.
Pre-Christmas exhibition
North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFI) as a part of its CSR initiative will organise a pre-Christmas exhibition at All Saints’ Cathedral Hall from December 17 to December 21.

Workshop
The Aroha Music and Cultural Society in collaboration with the London College of Music will organise a workshop at view point, Pohkseh (Residence of Pauline Warjri) on December 18. Dr John Hooper, professor of Music at Concordia University College of Alberta, Canada will conduct the workshop and will focus on piano and voice.
Death anniversary
The Department of Arts and Culture, will organise a programme to commemorate the 73rd death anniversary of U Soso Tham on December 18. Arts and Culture Minister, Clement Marak will be the chief guest on the occasion.
