SHILLONG, July 19: The Umiam dam which is undergoing retrofitting work experienced water logging following heavy rainfall on Friday. Videos of two-wheelers and cars facing problems while negotiating through the water logged stretch of the dam have gone viral.
MeECL officials said that the water logging occurred since the drainage pipes had got blocked during repair work. They promised to clear the pipes at the earliest.
