SHILLONG, July 20: A one-day legal awareness programme on NALSA (Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and the Eradication of Drug Menace) Scheme, 2015, and NALSA (Child-Friendly Legal Services to Children and their Protection Scheme) 2015, and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 was held at Laitryngew village under Sohra Civil Sub Division on Saturday.
Organised by the District Legal Services Authority, East Khasi Hill, in collaboration with Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong, under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, the programme was attended by B Kharlukhi, Secretary, DLSA, Shillong, Pynhun Syiem, SDPO, Sohra, Anthony BKhongsit, O/C, Sohra Police Station among others. The programme included a rally which saw the enthusiastic participation of students. Lectures were also delivered by resource persons on topics such as ‘Free Legal Aid & Services’, ‘NALSA 15100 Helpline’, ‘Drug Abuse, Law & Punishment’, ‘POCSO Act, 2012 Offences and Punishment’, etc.
