SHILLONG: Encouraged by the wide acceptance of their earlier album, the ANVC-B is now coming up with its new Christmas Album ‘Juta Gital’ (New Shoe).
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, ANVC-B leader Doang Shira said that the album will be a gift to the people this Christmas.
He asserted that ANVC-B songs have made a big impact in the minds of young people and the songs have strong messages with unique improvisation which have made a big impact among the young and old alike, specially the Youths.
According to Shira, the fund will be used in the camps for the cadres since outfit cannot send cadres to their families this Christmas as they will only end up in cells.
“We have been called and abandoned by the Government but we will not give up,” Shira said while adding that Government have invited them and trapped them with no support and assistance, and now they are being hunted.
“We see the hunt game as the attempt to push us back to jungle and force us to take up arms as Government is now scared of GNLA and Government is spending crores to enhance state police and no doubt, they do their duties fixing iron sheets on their vehicles to protect themselves while civilians fall prey,” the statement said.
He said that though ANVC-B is a part of the “Peace Pact” but Government treats them like rebels and outlaws.

Cadre arrested

In another statement, the outfit alleged one of their cadre was arrested by State police at Mendipathar.
“Freedom of our cadres is forcefully being snatched by state police, we do not have freedom in our own land, we cannot move about anywhere anymore. This festive season will see many of our cadres behind cell. Our patience is being tested and frustrated,” ANVC-B leader Rangdo Marak said.
The outfit accused the State Government of intentionally provoking them and having no idea things can get real ugly if the outfit lose control of its cadres.
He warned the State Government to stop hunt when things are still in control for peace sake and If things go out of hand ANVC-B need not be held responsible.
