Proposed delimitation bill

JOWAI: The HNYF Raliang Circle has informed that they would like to urge the Governor of Meghalaya, KK Paul to assent the proposed Delimitation bill as approved by the house in Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
The HNYF Raliang Circle in a release issued here stated that only the frequent delimitation exercise can knock some sense into the incumbent MDCs especially those who have remained in office for number of terms.
“This long tenure has induced a sense of irresponsibility and lethargy with an attitude of taking their job for granted “, the statement said.
“We are surprised as to why the MDCs of Jaintia Hills are so worried about the Delimitation bill and the main reason for them to worry is not at all based on the issue of public interests as they claimed but it is because of their own vested interests”, the statement added.
According to the HNYF, MDCs who have not done anything for the people are the ones who fear that the Delimitation exercise will affect the people of Jaintia Hills. They stated that this was totally unacceptable and on the contrary the members of the JHADC spent their time in defection and the toppling games that was in no way beneficial for the people of Jaintia Hills.
