Two-day Manipur Assembly session concludes

IMPHAL: The two-day session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly concluded on Thursday.
A total of 12 important questions as business list were raised by different members who had added more supplementary questions later in the House whose 6th session wrapped up on Thursday. The winter assembly session had only the morning sitting.
In the House, Chief Minister O Ibobi tabled the medium term fiscal policy statement, fiscal policy strategy statement, macro economic framework statement and disclosures as required under Rules 4, 5, 5 A and 6 of the Manipur Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Rules, 2005.
On the table of the House, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam also laid audit reports of different years, especially accounts of Comptroller Auditor General of India, which related with district councils of Kangpokpi, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Senapati.
Law and Order Legislative Affairs minister Th Debendra Singh further tabled the audit report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on the yearly accounts of Manipur State Legal Services Authority spreading from 2004 to 2011.
MLA L Ibomcha moved a calling attention motion in the House on smooth implementation of various Centrally sponsored schemes handled by the Social Welfare Department, while the issue of nominating outside candidates instead of appointing the same from the state for the Dental Council of India was raised under another calling attention by MLA Th Shyamkumar.
MLA Dr I Ibohanbi Singh raised a discussion on the need to persuade the Government of India for inclusion of Manipur in the category of Least Developed States. MLA RK Imo also raised a discussion on the need for establishment of a permanent infrastructure for Sangai Festival. (NNN)
