Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh government today imposed load restriction on power supply as per allocation with immediate effect in view of the onset of lean hydro season and subsequent reduction in the state’s allocation schedule.
“Since power availability and demand varies appreciably from time to time to short notice revision by various generating stations, the quantum of power allocated, duration of imposition and area to be covered may vary with time,” an official order said.
All divisions and districts should strictly abide by all directives, verbal or otherwise, issued by the state level distribution centre (SLDC), Itanagar, on the matter, it said.
In the event of non-compliance by any division, the SLDC has been empowered as per State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) and Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) regulations, to disconnect the entire division or district from the grid sub-station itself in order to protect the stability of the system, the order said.
The SLDC has been ordered to monitor hourly power drawl by all concerned and to report regularly on defaulting division and districts as recorded in the SLDC records for corrective action at appropriate levels.
The central sector to be transmitted through Assam-Arunachal inter-state transmission (IST) lines (11KV and 33KV) is allocated to SLDC Kahilipara in Assam.
Allocation of power to Chapakhowa in Assam would be routed through 33KV Rupai- Namsai IST lines and the distribution network of Arunachal Pradesh for which SLDC Kahilipara would make additional allocation to Chapakhowa through Rupai sub-station, the order said.
“The SLDC Itanagar and Kahilipara will exchange information on flow of power and restrictions, if any on regular basis,” the order added. (PTI)
