10 Laban schools vie for Quiz title

SHILLONG, Aug 11: A Quizzard event was organised at the Sankardev College auditorium here by Thrang Hok Rangad Academic Society (THRAS), in collaboration with Sankardev College and the Shillong Quizzing Society. The event brought together 10 schools from the Laban area to participate in a spirited quiz competition.
Principal of Sankardev College Dr Eureka FP Lyngdoh, who was the chief guest of the occasion, in her address, lauded the efforts of THRAS and emphasised the importance of such academic competitions in fostering intellectual growth. Dr Lyngdoh also highlighted Shillong’s potential as an academic hub in the region, encouraging students to actively engage in these opportunities.
The quiz saw Laban Assamese Girl’s Higher Secondary School emerge as the winner, with Pine Mount School and Sankardev College Higher Secondary Section securing second and third places, respectively.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by the compère, Ainame Phanbuh.
President of THRAS Banlumlang Blah reflected on the vision and contributions of late Thrang Hok Rangad, a former Minister and MLA of Laban. Secretary of THRAS Melam K Rangad elaborated on the society’s goals and mission. The vote of thanks was delivered by Amy Smith Rangad. The quiz was conducted by Anirban Paul and Arpit Nayak, members of the Shillong Quizzing Society, who served as the quiz masters for the event.
