Shillong Cricket League to begin on Thursday

SHILLONG: The Shillong Cricket League will begin on Thursday, it was announced by the organisers, the Shillong Cricket Association, on Tuesday.
Ten Super Division teams and 10 from the First Division will vie for the league system of 40 and 35 overs, respectively.
Last year’s champions NFU and the recently crowned Platinum Jubilee Cup winners will be full of confidence, while United XI will try to regain the top spot.
Nongthymmai SCC and Malki SCC are two of the newly-promoted clubs to the Super Division.
Lawmali SCC and Malki CC will also try to improve from the last season.
The First Division will see tough matches, with Keating Road CC and Megha CC aiming to maintain their dominance, while Young Guns and Pinewood CC are new teams from the Second Division.
Wahingdoh SCC and Lumdiengjri SCC, who were displaced from the Super Division, will hope to recover lost ground.
The four finalists of the two divisions will play a champions league of innings tournament at the end of the season.
The first match, to be held on Boxing Day at 9:00am, will be between Malki SC and TNT Sputnik CC in the Super Division.
Super Div Group A: NFU, Lawmali SCC, Aurobindo CC, TNT Sputnik CC, Malki SC Group B: United XI, Malki CC, Nongthymmai SCC, Riatsamthiah SCCA, Royal CC
First Div Group A: Megha SC, Young Guns CC, Venom Speed CC, Lumpyngngad CC, Lumdiengjri SCC Group B: Keating Road SCC, Pinewood CC, Wahingdoh SCC, Langsning SCC, Madanryting SCC
