Competition
Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, will organise Art, Essay writing, Fun Games and Recitation in English competitions as part of 14th Inter Shillong Cultural Event, 2024, at Laban Assamese Girls High School mear Laban Namghar from 10 am on August 18.

Medical camp
Ahead of 78th Independence Day celebrations, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Meghalaya, organised a free medical camp at Arya Vidyalaya Secondary School on Sunday. More than 200 underprivileged people from different walks of life benefitted from the camp, wherein free check-ups and medicines were provided to the public. The VHP expressed gratitude to Dr Susmita Paul, CRU Meghalaya, and Arya Vidyalaya Secondary School for their support in organising the camp.

Dak Adalat
A circle-level ‘Dak Adalat’ will be held in the office of the Chief Postmaster General, North-East Circle, at 11.30 am on August 29. The Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to Postal Services for its redressal. Written complaints may be sent through ordinary post or speed post on or before August 26.

Awareness prog
An awareness programme on road safety will be organised by the Ultimate Legend Bikers’ Association at Khyndai Lad (Police Bazaar) at 12:30 pm on August 20. Free pollution test will also be conducted for all vehicles in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, Shillong.

Appeal
Forever Young together with Maitshaprang has sought the support of Chief Minister for promotion of theatre in the state. The group also sought financial assistance for staging a musical play titled “Conscience and Man”. A petition was sent to the Chief Minister in this regard.
