Kidnapped labourers freed by abductors

IMPHAL: The two kidnapped labourers from Bishnupur district were freed by their abductors at Heitupokpi under Imphal East district on the eve of Christmas.
However, a separate source said the two labourers were rescued by the police.
Sanasam Tomba, 44, a native of Wangoo Heinoujam and Amom Doren, 30, hailing from Wangoo Sadangkhong Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district had disappeared without a trace since the night of December 10.
The two labourers had been reportedly kidnapped by armed cadres of Kuki National Front-Nehlun (KNF-N) at a construction site in Tuisenphai village under Saikul Police Station in Senapati district.
Media reports here had said that the KNF-N had abducted the duo in connection with a monetary demand of Rs 50 lakh. (NNN)
