TURA: “The need of the hour is to enhance the opportunities of convergence  among political, bureaucratic  and civil society institutions” said Agatha Sangma  the member of Parliament from Tura while conferring the diploma to the fourth batch of automobile and tailoring trainees and the first batch of driving school trainees  at Bakdil  Training Centre, Danakgre, Tura.
Agatha was the Chief Guest of the function which was attended by Rt.Rev.George Mamalassery and Assish  Sangma as Guests of Honour.
Agatha called upon the trainees to be hardworking and to immediately take up employment in the skills in which they  have been trained   so that more and more indigenous local youth can not only become role models in creating enterprises and employments but also can help to arrest skilled migration.
She also said that she had held discussions with Home Science and RVTI to introduce Prime Minister’s Skill Development Mission.
Earlier, Bishop George exhorted the trainees to live a disciplined life without which he added that no employment could last. “There is no alternative to hard work and persistent motivation,” he said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills, Ashis Sangma assured help to the youth from the district in the number of on-going Government schemes adding that training should lead to employment which had not been the case in the past.
In all 23 girls received diplomas in Tailoring, 16 boys in automobile and 15 youth in driving.
